More Than a Tour Company

Kimi Vietnam Tour began long before it became a registered travel company.

It started with a life in Vietnam.

With moving away from the familiar and slowly discovering a different rhythm of life, islands, fishing villages, rivers, motorbikes, coral reefs, small family restaurants and places that don't appear in travel brochures.

Somewhere along the way, Vietnam stopped being a destination.

It became home.

Kimi Vietnam Tour grew naturally from that life.

Not from a business plan.
Not from a catalogue of identical tours.
Not from the idea of putting tourists on a boat and sending them through a fixed itinerary.

We simply wanted to share the places we had discovered and the world we had become part of.

Today, that idea has grown into a licensed Vietnamese tour company.

But the principle remains the same.

We show Vietnam from the inside, as people who actually live here.

The Story Behind the Name

Kimi Vietnam Tour is named after our daughter, Kim.

Because this project was never meant to be just another travel brand.

It is connected to our family, our home and our everyday life in Vietnam.

When you travel with us, you are not entering a perfectly manufactured tourism product created in an office somewhere else.

You are meeting the people behind it.

The places we recommend are places we know.
The reefs are reefs we personally visit.
The roads we ride are part of our everyday journeys.
The stories come from people and places around us.

That is what Kimi means to us.

A family project that grew out of a real life in Vietnam.

Who We Are

Two Cultures. One Life in Vietnam.

Kimi Vietnam Tour was founded by Lý Huỳnh Vân Anh and Tomáš Komrska.

We come from completely different parts of the world.

One of us grew up in southern Vietnam.
The other arrived from Central Europe.

Somewhere between the Mekong Delta and the islands of southern Vietnam, those two worlds connected.

Today, Kimi Vietnam Tour combines both perspectives.

Vietnamese local knowledge and international communication.

A deep understanding of local culture together with an understanding of what international travelers actually expect when they travel thousands of kilometres from home.

We don't try to create an artificial version of Vietnam for visitors.

We simply help people enter the real one.

Lý Huỳnh Vân Anh

Vân Anh was born in the Mekong Delta region near Can Tho.

Vietnam is not something she studied before becoming a guide.

It is her home.

Her understanding of the country comes from a lifetime spent inside its culture. Trom family traditions and regional differences to everyday relationships, food, history and the complicated realities that often remain invisible to visitors.

She is also a licensed international tour guide.

As the Vietnamese founder and company owner, Vân Anh is responsible for the official operation and development of Kimi Vietnam Tour.

She speaks Vietnamese and English.

But more importantly, she provides something no guidebook can offer:

Tomáš Komrska

Co-founder · Organizer · Snorkeling Guide

Tomáš is originally from the Czech Republic and has been living long-term in southern Vietnam.

His background extends across several different fields, including technology, engineering, forestry, marine biology and history. Rather than leaving those interests behind, they continue to shape the way he explores and understands the environment around him.

Engineering brings a technical way of thinking, while forestry developed a deeper relationship with natural landscapes and ecosystems. His interest in marine biology became closely connected with life around the coral reefs of Phu Quoc.

History has taken on another dimension through life in Vietnam. What began as an interest has become something of a personal postgraduate education, an ongoing immersion in the country's rich history, Vietnamese language, culture and religious traditions, shaped not only by books but by everyday life, travel and conversations with the people around him.

Today, these interests naturally overlap, from exploring coral reef ecosystems and marine life to travelling through remote landscapes and understanding the history and cultures behind them.

At Kimi Vietnam Tour, Tomáš is responsible for trip organization, communication with international guests and the overall direction of the project.

On many snorkeling trips, he is personally in the water with guests.

Not standing on the boat and pointing toward the reef.

Actually swimming with you.

Helping beginners feel comfortable.
Finding marine life.

Showing you details that are easy to miss without someone who knows where to look.

He speaks Czech, English and Vietnamese.

What We Actually Do

Our main focus is southern Vietnam.

Especially the world we know personally.

Phu Quoc & the An Thoi Archipelago

Our primary speciality is snorkeling and marine experiences.

Different reefs look completely different depending on the season and time of day.

That is why we don't believe every day should follow exactly the same route.

Whenever possible, locations are selected according to real conditions rather than blindly following a fixed mass-tourism schedule.

We Know the Reefs Beyond Their Names

Around the An Thoi Archipelago, we regularly explore reefs and marine environments including:

Mong Tay.
May Rut.

And many other locations depending on conditions.

Each reef is different.

Some are known for large coral formations.

Others have anemone gardens.

Some have impressive soft corals.

Others are better for small marine life hiding between coral structures.

This is what makes snorkeling interesting to us.

The goal is not simply to tick off another island.

It is to enter a living environment and actually observe it.

The Ocean Is Not a Backdrop

For us, snorkeling is more than floating above something colourful for ten minutes.

A coral reef is a living ecosystem.

Clownfish moving between anemone tentacles.

Butterflyfish feeding around coral colonies.

Parrotfish grazing across the reef.

Wrasses moving through the water column.

Damselfish defending tiny territories.

Soft corals moving with the current.

Hard corals that have taken decades to grow.

Sometimes the most interesting thing isn't the biggest fish.

It might be something only a few centimetres long.

A shrimp.
A nudibranch.
A juvenile fish.
A tiny relationship between two species happening directly in front of you.

That is why we guide people in the water.

Because when you understand what you are looking at, the experience changes completely.

You stop simply swimming over the reef.

You begin noticing it.

We don't promise the same underwater visibility every day.

And we don't edit reality into something it isn't.

The ocean is constantly changing.

Visibility depends on weather and sea conditions.

Marine life moves.

Currents change.

Some days are extraordinary.

Other days are quieter.

Our photos and videos are taken during real trips in the An Thoi Archipelago.

They show actual reefs and actual conditions.

We Don't Build Tours Around Crowds

Mass tourism has its place.

But it is not what we want to build.

We prefer:

Small groups instead of large boats.

Private experiences instead of rigid schedules.

Flexibility instead of rushing.

Real locations instead of tourist theatre.

Time in the water instead of constantly moving between photo stops.

That doesn't mean every trip has to be silent or serious.

Families have fun.

Children discover snorkeling for the first time.

Friends jump from boats.

People laugh.

But the experience doesn't need to become chaos to be memorable.

Beginners Are Welcome

You don't need previous snorkeling experience to join us.

Many of our guests enter the ocean for the first time.

Some are nervous.

Some have never used a mask and snorkel.

Some bring children.

Others are experienced freedivers looking for a more interesting reef.

We adapt the experience to the people in the water.

The same reef can be experienced completely differently depending on who you are.

For a beginner, seeing the first clownfish can be unforgettable.

For an experienced snorkeler, the same location might reveal coral species or marine behaviour they have never noticed before.

There is no single correct way to experience the ocean.

Families Are Part of What We Do

Kimi Vietnam Tour is a family business.

So naturally, we understand that traveling with children is different.

A family snorkeling trip should not feel like forcing children through an adult itinerary.

Sometimes the best experience is a shorter time in the water.

Sometimes it means staying close to shallow areas.

Sometimes one parent wants to snorkel while another stays with a small child.

Private tours allow us to adapt.

Because travel isn't about completing every point on an itinerary.

Especially with children.

It is about everyone enjoying the day.

Our Philosophy

We believe good travel does not need to be overproduced.

Not everything needs a dramatic story.

Not every place needs to be called hidden.

Not every moment needs to become an adventure of a lifetime.

Sometimes a good experience is simply:

A child seeing the ocean for the first time.

Coffee on a pier before sunrise.

We try not to interfere with those moments too much.

Nature Has Limits

We work in environments that are fragile.

Especially coral reefs.

A reef is not an attraction built for tourism.

It existed long before us and hopefully will continue long after us.

That requires respect.

We encourage people to observe rather than touch.

To slow down rather than chase animals.

To understand that marine life is not there for our entertainment.

And to remember that beautiful places can be damaged surprisingly quickly.

We are not perfect environmentalists.

But we believe awareness matters.

Because people protect what they understand.

No Perfect Vietnam

We love Vietnam.

But we don't believe in pretending it is perfect.

Vietnam is beautiful.

It is also chaotic.

Sometimes loud.

Sometimes complicated.

The weather can ruin plans.

The sea can change overnight.

Traffic can be ridiculous.

Things don't always happen on schedule.

That is part of reality.

And honestly, we prefer reality over a perfectly filtered version created for social media.

Travel becomes much more interesting when you stop expecting a destination to perform for you.
