Last-minute bookings may be possible depending on availability. However, we recommend booking private tours in advance, particularly
during the busy December–March season, when popular departure times can fill up quickly.
2. Our Tours & Experiences
What types of tours does Kimi Vietnam Tour offer?
We offer private and small-group snorkeling tours, private speedboat island hopping, private boat tour. Jeep and land excursions, deep sea fishing, and scuba diving experiences around Phu Quoc.
Our land experiences include cultural sightseeing, local communities, traditional crafts, historical attractions, and nature exploration, including jungle walks and hiking in Phu Quoc National Park.
We also offer customized private itineraries based on your interests and travel preferences.
What is the difference between a private tour and a join-in tour?
Private tours are reserved exclusively for your group, offering greater flexibility with departure times, itinerary, activities, and pace.
Join-in tours follow a shared schedule with other guests and are generally priced per person.
What is the difference between snorkeling and island hopping?
Our reef-focused snorkeling tours prioritize underwater exploration, living coral reefs, reef fish, and marine life. An in-water guide accompanies guests to explore selected reef areas and discover the underwater ecosystem.
Island hopping focuses more on visiting tropical islands, relaxing on beaches, swimming, photography, sightseeing, and enjoying the scenery, often with shorter snorkeling stops.
Both experiences take place around the beautiful islands of southern Phu Quoc, but offer different ways to enjoy them.
Can I customize a private tour?
Yes. Private tours offer flexibility to adjust departure times, activity duration, island stops, and the overall pace.
Whether you prefer more time exploring coral reefs, relaxing on a secluded beach, or combining different activities, we can discuss an itinerary that suits your group.
All arrangements depend on weather, safety, operational requirements, and availability.
How long do your tours last?
Tour durations vary by experience. Private snorkeling typically lasts 3–6 hours, while private island hopping can last approximately 3–7 hours. Join-in and full-day excursions follow their published schedules.
For private tours, the duration is flexible. If you prefer a shorter experience, an earlier departure, or additional time on the water, please contact us. We are happy to discuss alternative arrangements whenever possible.
Do you offer the Hon Thom Cable Car and Aquatopia Water Park?
Yes. The Hon Thom Cable Car and Aquatopia Water Park can be combined with several of our experiences.
Options include join-in island hopping tours, private snorkeling tours ending with a cable car experience, and private 4-island speedboat tours.
The cable car can also be added to selected land excursions, including Best of South Phu Quoc and South Phu Quoc Jeep tours.
Availability, scheduling, and ticket inclusions depend on the selected experience.
Do you offer scuba diving and sea walking?
Yes. Try Scuba Diving and Sea Walking are available as activity stops on selected join-in and private island hopping tours.
Our dedicated low-impact reef snorkeling tours focus on natural coral reefs and marine life, so these commercial activity stops are not normally included.
However, a Try Scuba or Sea Walking stop can be arranged on request during a private snorkeling tour, subject to availability and suitable conditions.
We also offer dedicated scuba diving experiences for certified divers and beginners, with private and join-in options.
Can I try scuba diving without a certification?
Yes. Our Try Scuba Diving experience is designed for beginners who do not hold a diving certification.
You can discover the underwater world through introductory scuba dives, under the direct supervision of a qualified diving professional.
Depending on the selected program and sea conditions, the experience can include two diving locations. These are real scuba dives, with depth and activity limits appropriate for non-certified participants.
Certified divers can also join dedicated diving experiences suited to their training and experience.
3. Hotel Pickup & Transportation
Is hotel pickup included in the tour price?
Hotel pickup and drop-off are included in many of our tours, particularly from central Phu Quoc.
Exact transfer inclusions depend on the selected tour and hotel location. Any additional transportation charges are clearly indicated in advance.
Do you pick up guests from northern and remote areas of Phu Quoc?
Yes. We arrange hotel transfers throughout Phu Quoc, including Ong Lang, Cua Can, Ganh Dau, Vung Bau, Rach Vem, Bai Thom, Ham Ninh, Cay Sao, and other locations around the island.
Additional transfer charges may apply depending on your hotel location and selected tour. These are communicated before your booking is confirmed.
What time will I be picked up?
For join-in tours, the published pickup schedule generally refers to central Phu Quoc. Guests staying farther north or in remote locations may be collected earlier. We will confirm your exact pickup time based on your hotel.
For private tours, you can select your preferred departure time, subject to availability and the itinerary. We arrange transportation accordingly, regardless of where you are staying on the island.
Can I travel directly to the departure point?
Absolutely. If you prefer to arrange your own transportation, we can meet you directly at the designated departure harbor.
Simply let us know when booking, and we will provide the meeting location and time.
4. Families, Swimming & Safety
Are your tours suitable for families with young children?
Yes. Many of our private tours are suitable for families, including those traveling with very young children.
For private speedboat snorkeling tours, we generally recommend children be at least one year old. Speedboats can be noisy, move quickly, and bounce over waves, which may be uncomfortable or stressful for infants and toddlers.
We provide child-sized snorkeling equipment and life jackets, with flotation equipment available for very young children, subject to proper fit.
Our join-in reef snorkeling tours accept children aged 8 years and older for safety reasons.
Island hopping and most land excursions do not have a general minimum age, although suitability depends on the child's age, sea conditions, and activities involved.
For jungle trekking or physically demanding excursions, please contact us before booking with young children.
Are parents responsible for their children during the tour?
Yes. Parents or guardians remain responsible for supervising their children throughout the experience, especially on boats and near open water.
Children must remain under adult supervision and follow the guide's safety instructions.
On request, we may be able to arrange a female guide who can offer additional assistance to families traveling with young children. However, our guides do not replace parental supervision or provide a childcare service.
Do I need to know how to swim to join a snorkeling tour?
For join-in snorkeling tours, participants should be comfortable swimming in open water while wearing a flotation vest. Previous snorkeling experience is not required, and our guides explain the equipment and basic techniques before entering the water.
However, group tours are not suitable for guests who need continuous one-to-one swimming assistance.
For non-swimmers and complete beginners, we recommend a private snorkeling experience, where the guide can provide more individual attention and introduce snorkeling at a comfortable pace.
Participation in the water is always subject to the guide's safety assessment and sea conditions.
Can I try freediving with Kimi Vietnam Tour?
Yes. We offer recreational freediving experiences focused on exploring marine life, observing coral reef ecosystems, and enjoying the underwater environment.
Our approach is not about depth records or competitive freediving. Instead, we focus on relaxed underwater exploration and developing basic skills such as equalization, efficient finning, controlled surface dives, and comfortable movement underwater.
Our guides can introduce suitable techniques and accompany you on underwater exploration, within safe limits and according to your experience.
We also love capturing underwater photos and videos of your experience.
What is the difference between snorkeling and freediving?
Snorkeling generally involves observing the underwater world while swimming at the surface, while freediving involves diving below the surface on a single breath.
At Kimi Vietnam Tour, both experiences share the same philosophy: exploring marine life and coral reefs rather than chasing records.
For guests interested in recreational freediving, we can visit suitable deeper reef locations and provide appropriate equipment, including long freediving fins.
Our guides accompany underwater exploration, always prioritizing safety and responsible interaction with the marine environment.
Do you provide snorkeling equipment and life jackets?
Yes. Our snorkeling tours include masks, snorkels, fins, and life jackets.
We also provide child-sized snorkeling equipment and flotation gear. Child-sized life jackets are available for children from approximately 18 months, and flotation suits are available for some younger children from around one year old, depending on their size and fit.
We check equipment suitability before entering the water to ensure a comfortable and safe experience.
Will a snorkeling guide accompany us in the water?
Yes, on our dedicated guided snorkeling experiences.
Our guide enters the water with guests, assists with snorkeling techniques, identifies coral species and marine life, and leads exploration around selected reef areas.
We focus on discovering the underwater ecosystem rather than simply swimming above the reef.
Other tour types may offer different levels of snorkeling assistance, so please check the inclusions of your selected experience.
Can beginners join your snorkeling tours?
Yes. Beginners are welcome on suitable snorkeling experiences.
Before entering the water, our guides explain how to use the equipment, basic snorkeling techniques, and safe behavior around coral reefs.
For guests with limited swimming ability or those seeking more individual assistance, we recommend a private tour.
What if I have a medical condition or limited mobility?
Please contact us before booking if you have a medical condition, mobility limitation, or other concern that could affect participation.
Some activities involve speedboat transfers, open-water swimming, uneven ground, or physical effort.
We can discuss the practical requirements of the experience and whether suitable arrangements are possible. Medical clearance may be necessary for certain activities.
5. Weather, Sea Conditions & Cancellation
Are snorkeling tours available throughout the year?
Yes. We organize snorkeling experiences throughout the year, subject to safe sea and weather conditions.
Phu Quoc has many different snorkeling locations, each affected differently by seasonal winds, waves, and currents.
When traditional snorkeling spots are unsuitable, our local knowledge allows us to consider alternative reefs and sheltered areas offering better conditions.
Our goal is to provide a rewarding underwater experience whenever conditions allow, rather than following the same fixed locations every day.
What is the best time for snorkeling in Phu Quoc?
November to May generally provides the most favorable conditions for visiting more distant coral reefs, with better chances of calm seas and good underwater visibility.
During other months, snorkeling conditions depend more heavily on seasonal winds, waves, and local weather. We select the most suitable available locations based on daily conditions.
September is typically one of the most challenging months for snorkeling around Phu Quoc. Good conditions are still possible, but visibility and sea conditions can be unpredictable.
Regardless of the season, our team evaluates the conditions to select suitable snorkeling areas for each trip.
What happens if it rains on the day of my tour?
Rain does not necessarily mean your snorkeling tour must be cancelled.
Underwater conditions are often affected more by wind, waves, currents, and visibility than by light rainfall at the surface.
Phu Quoc's geography also creates different local weather patterns. It can be raining over the main island while the smaller islands of the An Thoi Archipelago enjoy sunshine.
Occasional tropical showers usually do not prevent snorkeling when sea conditions remain safe. However, prolonged or heavy rain may make beach activities less enjoyable, and thunderstorms or hazardous sea conditions may require changes or cancellation.
We assess each situation individually, prioritizing safety and the overall quality of your experience.
Can the itinerary or snorkeling locations change?
Yes. Island stops, snorkeling reefs, and the order of activities may change according to weather, underwater visibility, waves, currents, or safety requirements.
Rather than following a rigid route, we aim to select the most suitable locations for the conditions on the day.
What happens if Kimi Vietnam Tour cancels my trip?
If we must cancel a confirmed tour because it cannot operate safely, we will offer an alternative date or refund any advance payment received for the affected activity, according to our booking policy.
Can I cancel my booking for free?
For direct bookings, free cancellation is generally available up to 24 hours before departure, unless different conditions were clearly agreed when booking.
Reservations made through third-party booking platforms may follow their own cancellation terms.
6. Preparing for Your Tour
What should I bring on a snorkeling or island hopping tour?
We recommend bringing swimwear, a towel, a change of clothes, sunglasses, sandals, and sun protection.
A long-sleeved rash guard is particularly useful for snorkeling, helping protect your skin from sun exposure and reducing the need for sunscreen in the water.
Bring some Vietnamese Dong for optional purchases and personal expenses.
Are meals and drinks included?
Inclusions vary by tour.
Our private 4-island hopping experience includes an island lunch, while dedicated reef snorkeling tours typically provide drinking water and fresh fruit without a full meal.
Always check the included services on your selected tour page.
Can you accommodate vegetarian or special dietary requirements?
Vegetarian and other menu options are available on selected tours that include meals.
Please inform us about dietary preferences or food allergies in advance so we can check suitable arrangements.
Are underwater photos and videos included?
Selected guided snorkeling tours include 4K underwater video, while some island hopping experiences include drone photography.
Media inclusions and delivery times depend on your selected tour.
Drone operation is subject to suitable weather, safety, and local flight restrictions.
Can we touch coral, starfish, or other marine animals?
No. We practice low-impact snorkeling and responsible wildlife observation.
Please never touch, stand on, lift, feed, or collect marine organisms. Coral reefs are fragile living ecosystems, and physical contact can damage corals and harm marine animals.
Many underwater surfaces and organisms can also be extremely sharp or cause injuries.
The best way to experience marine life is to observe it respectfully, maintain a safe distance, and leave the underwater environment undisturbed.
