Good to Know

  • What to Bring Swimsuit, towel, sunglasses, sandals, and a waterproof camera or phone if you have one.

  • Reef-Safe Sunscreen Only Regular sunscreen damages coral. Please bring biodegradable or reef-safe sunscreen. We will remind you before entering the water.

  • Bring Cash (VND) For optional lunch, drinks, or souvenirs at Hon May Rut Island. There are no ATMs on the islands.

  • Do Not Touch the Coral Not just for the reef - for you. Coral is razor sharp and cuts easily. Keep your fins and hands away from the reef at all times. Your guide will show you how to move safely around it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a private speedboat tour?

Yes. The speedboat is exclusively for your group. There are no other guests onboard, allowing a flexible schedule and a relaxed pace throughout the day.

Is this tour suitable for beginner snorkelers?

Absolutely. Beginners are welcome. Your guide enters the water with you, explains the equipment, helps with breathing techniques, and provides assistance whenever needed.

Do I need to know how to swim?

Not necessarily. Many guests have little or no snorkeling experience. Life jackets are available, and we focus on calm reef areas suitable for beginners whenever conditions allow.

Which coral reefs will we visit?

The exact reefs are selected daily based on visibility, wind, currents, and sea conditions. Common snorkeling locations include Kim Quy Reef, Gam Ghi Reef, Buom Reef, Bat Reef, Mong Tay Reef, and May Rut Reef.

What marine life can I expect to see?

Depending on conditions, you may encounter clownfish, butterflyfish, parrotfish, damselfish, wrasses, fusiliers, giant clams, sea anemones, hard corals, soft corals, and many other reef species.

Is the BBQ lunch included?

Yes. A simple beach BBQ lunch is included and prepared on a quiet island beach. Depending on availability, the menu may include seafood, chicken, fresh fruit, and Vietnamese side dishes. Vegetarian options are available upon request.

Can we fish during the trip?

Yes. Simple local handline fishing is available when sea conditions are suitable. Our approach is reef-friendly and focused on sustainability. Species that are protected or important for reef health are always released unharmed. For example, parrotfish are essential reef grazers that help coral ecosystems thrive and are never kept. If a suitable catch is made from non-sensitive species, we may prepare it fresh as part of the beach BBQ experience.

How long does the tour last?

Most tours last approximately 5–8 hours, depending on weather, snorkeling conditions, and how much time your group wishes to spend in the water.

Is the itinerary fixed?

No. We adjust the route daily to find the best snorkeling conditions. Coral reefs, island stops, and the order of activities may change based on visibility, wind direction, and safety considerations.

Is underwater photography included?

Yes. We take underwater photos and videos during the tour. Depending on your package, you may also receive a GoPro highlight movie after the trip.

Is this an island-hopping tour?

Not in the traditional sense. While we visit several islands and reef locations, the primary focus is guided snorkeling, coral reefs, marine life, and a relaxed private experience rather than rushing between tourist attractions.

Can families with children join?

Yes. Families with children are welcome. The private format allows us to adapt the pace and snorkeling locations to suit different ages and experience levels.

Is the tour available all year round?

Yes. We operate throughout the year. Snorkeling locations are selected daily according to sea conditions, visibility, and weather to provide the best possible experience.

What should I bring?

We recommend bringing swimwear, a towel, sunglasses, reef-safe sunscreen, and dry clothes for after the tour. If you plan to purchase drinks or souvenirs on the islands, bring some cash (VND).

Why choose a private snorkeling tour instead of a group tour?

A private tour offers greater flexibility, access to better snorkeling conditions, personalized guidance, more time in the water, and a significantly more relaxed experience without crowded boats or fixed schedules.
